We were kindly gifted the Measure Mate to review by Learning Resources UK, however all words and opinions are our own.
“WOOOOOOWWWWW”, shouted Lily as she opened the box, “this is SOOOO COOOL”! Lily was truly excited when she opened the box to the Learning Resources UK 5-in-1 Outdoor Measure Mate.
“Is this my VERY OWN trundle, that I can keep FOREVER?”

Yes, I knew she would be excited, but I had no idea that she would be THIS excited!
Little did I know that they’d recently been using trundles at school, so she could not believe her eyes that she had one that we could take on our adventures with us.

What is the 5-in-1 Measure Mate?
The 5-in-1 Measure Mate has five different tools, including vertical measure, callipers, a trundle wheel, spirit level and measuring stick.

I was initially worried about how big it would be, but it is brilliant as it easily connects and disconnects into three different sections, allowing you to build it into one larger trundle wheel, or use the sections independently for smaller measurements.
What’s more, to add to the parent-friendliness of it, it packs into its own mesh bag, to keep all the bits together, making it easy to carry, store, or take with you.

Our review
We may have only had it a few days, but already it has been used to measure our rugs, room sizes, garden, and the grounds of the local castle.
Lily has recently had the it’s-not-Covid cold going round, so it has been great to keep her occupied at home, when we’d usually be outdoors from early morning, as well as when we went out for fresh air too.

I’ve been able to do the weekend cleaning around the house, while Lily’s been happily pottering around measuring, well, everything! Even the poor goldfish was subject to the spirit levels to check that his tank was level (spoiler alert: he’s fine!)
We love how simple it is to use and build, as well as store away. It easily slid into the boot of the car in its mesh bag, for us to take to the castle and measure the distance around the outside of the moat, the bridge over the stream, and all the leaves and sticks along the way.
Thankfully, the ducks avoided being measured, but it was a close call!

Would we recommend it?
YES! If you have kids who love to explore, this is definitely one for you. If you have kids who sometimes need a bit of extra motivation for a walk, this is one for you. If you have kids who love to help around the house, this is definitely a great choice.

If you’re looking for a fun gift that is also educational, for a kid or even a teacher, we really would recommend the 5-in-1 Measure Mate too.
It is such great quality and robust enough for all kinds of grounds, and it comes with some fun stickers and a guide book to help with fun ideas too, using all the tools – you can see why it has won so many awards!

Thanks, Learning Resources UK for giving us the chance to try this out – keep an eye on our social media for pictures of when we take this on even more adventures, I particularly have the feeling it will be great for Lily to enjoy on a campsite while I’m putting the tent up!
